From our 12th and final pillar of society, Economics, this scenario explores methods and perspectives within the themes of alternative currencies, value and systemic dependancy — participants have the choice to reinforce their current evolution or to develop a new trajectory.
+ What are the stakes?
In the course of the scenario, friction and is inevitable but a necessary ingredient in the pursuit of; empathy, insight and foresight. We’ve identified a few core tensions* we expect to come up :
> Individual perception of value based on available and accessible resources. What happens when what you have is not valued by others?
> Communal formations of a currency that is only viable within your peers. Who defines what’s valuable in your community?
> Regional measures to maintain and control the distribution of wealth. How do you protect the fragile balance of inequality?
> National system designed to inspire productivity in the pursuit of currency. What do you do when scarcity is disproven?
> Global justification of reliable inequality, to sustain supply and demand. How do you sell this on the world stage?
