Title : New Simulation, Trauma, Remedy & Reparations
After an over-subscribed Second Coming simulation in January at Royal College of Art. The Adversary has partnered with Unmaterialised again to develop another immersive forum in response the latest research project 'Witness?'.
Based on Sigmund's Freuds concept of 'Archaic Remnants', described as the inheritance of memories through genetics. We have been tasked to devise a simulation that highlights what’s lies at the core of the issues surrounding identity and generational relationships between people, communities and nations.
Our initial starting place highlighted a very key issue — the understanding and valuation of memories and their limitations on integration and progress. As a result what better arena for participants to operate in than The United Nations.
This would be an opportunity to update their Remedy and Reparations formulae, to start to define and value different forms of trauma. This is not for the fainthearted but poses an opportunity to advance the conversation and methods of unifying communities and to provide healing on all tiers of society.
